The Lakers beat the Wizards 125-120 on Wednesday night after building a large lead and holding on during a late run despite exhaustion from their six-game road trip.
The Lakers improved to 11 games over.500 on the season and 5-1 on their trip with the win.
After playing the night before, the Lakers and Wizards combined for 34 turnovers and several additional near-misses saved by a loose ball or lucky bounce.
However, the Lakers were better positioned to capitalize on their opponent's blunders.
The Wizards took an early lead after hitting their first five three-pointers, but the Lakers quickly climbed back into the game by tightening up on defense and playing through Anthony Davis.
AD led the team with 35 points and 18 rebounds, but nearly half of total came in the first quarter, when Davis bullied his way to 19 points and 11 rebounds.
AD was pounded into the paint as the tiny Wizards had to push and grab to restrict him from scoring easily at the rim, resulting in several foul line scores.
But Davis punished him by blocking all 11 of his shots that period and 15 for the game.
