Sky, Angel Reese fined for breaking media policies after 71-70 loss to Fever; foul on Caitlin Clark upgraded

First, on Saturday, Fever rookie Caitlin Clark was called for a flagrant 1 foul by guard Chennedy Carter for an away-from-the-play personal foul.

This was the result of an official review by the league.

After the Sky's 71-70 loss, the WNBA stated an hour later that rookie forward Angel Reese had been fined $1,000 for not being available to the media.

Every WNBA team is required by media protocol to have two starting players and one head coach accessible for questioning after each game, with a 10-minute cooling-down period in between.

The interviews will take place in a news conference format,

although any participant who is unable to attend in person may be asked to do so by members of the media present.

Last year, in lieu of locker-room access, that provision was put into place after negotiations with the players' union.

Participating in post-game interviews were Carter, rookie center Kamilla Cardoso, and coach Teresa Weatherspoon following Saturday's game.
