Caitlin Clark Is Being "Targeted," Says Veteran UConn Women's Basketball Coach

Former University of Connecticut women's basketball coach and Basketball  

Hall of Famer Geno Auriemma has stated his belief that Caitlin Clark,  

a member of the Indiana Fever and the top pick in the upcoming draft, has been "targeted" by aggressive players.  

Does she have to deal with the typical difficulties of a rookie, the rookie challenge? In Connecticut,   

Auriemma confirmed the answer to reporters. "They're going after her as well."  

On Saturday, Clark's clashes with other teams came to a climax. On an inbounds play,   

Chicago Sky guard Chennedy Carter caught her off guard and knocked her to the floor.  

After review, the WNBA elevated the call from a normal foul to a flagrant foul 1, even though the officials had initially deemed it a regular foul.
