Cowboys quarterback is turning heads at OTAs, and it's not Dak Prescott

The Cowboys again delayed Dak Prescott's extension. CeeDee Lamb is anticipated to sign a new deal first, but the Cowboys' statements about Prescott's future and free agency suggest an agreement before 2024.

Still, many Cowboys fans and NFL observers think Prescott might leave in free agency.

Nothing about that helps Dallas. If Prescott doesn't sign an extension by March, the Cowboys will lose a starting quarterback and $40 million in dead money.

OTAs have shown Prescott's leadership despite contract uncertainty.

A QB in his eighth season should expect that.

The backup job is the main focus this summer, other than Dak's contract.

Trey Lance is a hot topic ahead of his second year in Dallas, but it's too early to call the QB2 winner.

Prescott and McCarthy have praised Lance since the offseason began.
