Zingy ginger and tamarind margarita recipe

Ingredients: flaky sea salt, slices of lime and ginger. To make a margarita, combine 25ml fresh lime juice, 50ml tequila, 25ml triple sec

½ tsp smooth tamarind paste, a chunk of fresh root ginger cut and pounded, and 2 large ice cubes.

Begin by garnishing the glass. Sprinkle some salt on a small plate.

Directions:  

Run a lime slice over the rim of a coupe glass to dampen it, then invert the glass into the salt, storing the lime for later.

Once the rim has been covered, allow it to dry while you prepare the cocktail.

In a cocktail shaker, combine the lime juice, tequila, triple sec, tamarind paste, and bashed ginger pieces. 

Dry shake (without ice) for 20 seconds to extract the ginger's taste. Shake the ice for about 10 seconds, or until frost forms on the outside.

Strain into the prepared glass and decorate the rim with the reserved lime slice and a ginger slice.
